I got the acer K242HL to plug hook up into my laptop so i can do more work. When i turn on my laptop though, it goes straight to the monitor's "speakers" and i have to revert it back everytime. i dont know if the monitor has speakers and my volume is all the way down, or it just auto-detects without one being present. can anyone help? ive read that the K242HL doesnt have speakers apparentley but idk

    Try Windows + x

    go to device manager

Expand sound video and game controllers

You will see two sound drivers - Primary sound driver and Dislay audio

    Disable the intel display audio

Now you will not get the sound from external monitor

Hi @gogurtman47 the computer appears to have no built-in speakers:

    How to connect?

Hi, friend! Well, indeed, your monitor model does not have built-in speakers, but it does have an audio output which your computer automatically detects. I think you will have to choose the audio output manually every time you turn on the computer. Additionally, I am attaching an image so that you can appreciate what I have told you.

Hola amigo!
