Nitro AN515-58 :CPU hits 100°C easily while gaming or even less heavy load games like CSGO etc

So I purchased an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 i5 12500F RTX 3050 16GB Laptop in December 2022, and I noticed that while gaming (which I only do while plugged in), the cpu easily hits 100° Celcius. I tried everything, including purchasing two different laptop cooling pads, using laptop fans at maximum speed, and even turning on my air conditioner most of the time when gaming. I am hoping that someone at Acer India will assist me. I was concerned about the high temperature because it could damage the capability and efficiency of the CPU, and one thing I noticed is that my CPU usage is quite low even while gaming, which could be the source of the problem.

Hi @krutikemm according to the characteristics of the processor in Intel, its TJUNCTION (The temperature at the junction is the maximum temperature allowed in the processor matrix) is 100 degrees Celsius:

Although it should not work for a long time at that temperature, which is responsible for the activation of the fans and I imagine that the temperature should drop to lower values.

We must bear in mind that they are devices with elements designed to work with high energy demands and temperatures above average.

On the other hand, it is applications such as games, which most demand maximum performance from the processor and graphics, which is why they are the ones that cause the temperatures to be high.

From the community I cannot determine if there is a cooling problem or not, although you say that you have changed pads and that the fans work at maximum speed, but if values above 90 degrees are reached quickly and the cooling of the equipment You are not able to download it, go to Acer's warranty services.

It is also important to comply with the elementary standards for this type of equipment:

    • The air outlets must be free of obstacles that do not prevent the correct air outlet.
    • Keep the equipment in a cool place
    • The equipment must be supported on consistent surfaces that do not absorb heat, avoiding surfaces made of cloth or soft materials.
    • That the temperature of the room where the equipment is located is not high.

    Thank you.
    All the best.
