Hello there, I am new here and new to the ssd and AHCI world Smiley Happy.

I have an acer predator G7700 that I wished to upgrade its HD to SSD. So, I got a new SSD (kingston hyper x 240gb 3k SSD 2.5'' SATA rev 3.0 (6GB/s) and plugged it into the sata port in the acer desktop. My acer desktop is as is from the manufactorer havnt changed any hardware in it and the SSD is the first thing I changed. Then I installed windows 7 (64 ver ultimate) on the ssd. My problem is, after some reading I found out that I need to enable AHCI in bios but the option is missing.

How should I go around enabling it? I tried updating the BIOS but I got an error that states ( Error: File ROM ID incorrect.

Another new problem that I noticed is the extreme slow loading of windows on the SSD. Example, where it says (windows is starting) it takes at least a minute to trasit to the login screen. Also there are minor hangs here and there while executing browser.

If there are any missing information please let me know! I will try to provide as much info as I can. Thank you.
