My Acer Spin 5 (SP515-51GN-87Y0) hasn't been turning on for a while, the power light keeps flashing orange. The batter light would be orange when i plugged the charger in, but then it turned blue. Orange power light still flashing. I tried the unplugging and holding the ON button for 15-30secs, resetting the battery, etc, but nothing is working. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

The only thing that a user like you can do is to do a Hard Reset and take the main battery out, disconnect the bios battery and take the ram out, leave all components disconnected for 15min and then reconnect all components and see if this reset boots your laptop?

As and if it doesn’t, this problem is within your laptop and its in the 3.3v power/charging stages of your laptop where a capacitor, filter or a mosat is shorted and needs replacing and analysing by an experienced technician that has all the proper tools to trace these circuitries where they are, as you can’t do that. Take your laptop to a technician that is my advise to you.

The flashing light usually is detection of a battery problem. Steven's reset should clear that up if the battery is actually good, though you can do pretty much the same thing with the normal battery reset procedure using the rest button on the bottom of the laptop. Shut the laptop off and disconnect everything, including the charger. Use a SIM tool or a bent paperclip to press and hold the reset for 15 seconds. Release the reset and wait for 15 minutes or so, then plug only the power back in. Wait for the battery indication to show blue, then turn it on and see if the issue is fixed. Your system is pushing four years old, so a little early for the battery to go bad, but it's always possible it just has failed early. If that's the case a replacement is in the cards.
