Determined I need to increase my RAM from 16 to 32. Looked through past posts on the subject, but still came away scratching my (7 decade old) head :-)

Welcome the specifics as to the type and brand of RAM to purchase (US). Now, it has been decades since I install additional RAM. Is the process easy peasy? Viewed a YouTube tutorial which looked like a pretty straight forward process. If I go the self install route, does the RAM come with a get, the necessary screw driver and an item to twist open the backing once the screws are removed?

Or, leave the job to my local Best Buy computer service?

Hi,

You need to find out the memory combination in your laptop, you can find out in SPD tab of CPU-z whether you have 1x16GB or 2x8GB setup in your laptop.

If you have 1x16GB, buy another module with same specs as your current module, you will not get a screw driver or spudger with the memory module, you have to buy them separately.

If you have 2x8GB modules installed, you need to buy 2x16GB DDR5 4800MHz with CL=40.

When you remove the base cover, disconnect the battery, press power button to discharge any electricity, when removing the metal cover, make sure that it doesn't touch the motherboard to avoid damaging any components on the motherboard.

You have to search online for the retailers in US with the part numbers in the list, all I get are retailers in UK.
