Predator Helios PH315-52 Laptop Green Screen and crackly

I have had this laptop PH315-52 since 2020, and recently ran in to a problem.

The screen goes green and crackly - this even happens in BIOS.

If allowed to completely die (it keeps trying to bootload otherwise, but will not make it through) I can use the laptop for about 5-10 minutes before the same thing occurs.

I've tried it on an external screen, and the issue doesn't happen then. However, it causes the whole PC to freeze and then shutdown, so just using a different monitor isn't an option.

I've also heard it make this awful screeching static noise when trying (and failing) to boot up, which I don't know if is related.

Any advice on how to solve is much appreciated

I guess there its an hardware issue with the screen.

Request you to call Acer repair center or the local tech

Step 1:

# Try to get the BIOS page.

1. Turn OFF the unit.

2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.

3. You will be in setup utility page.

4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.

5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.

6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.

7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Step 2:

Could be a falty GPU or driver, first try using DDU to remove the driver and re install

Then try stressing the GPU with furmark to see if it happens again, if it does, its time to raise a repair request.
