Has anyone gotten it to work yet? I bought this last year so that it would be possible to connect an external antenna, which I now intend to buy.

Same problem here. Whether i use an external antenna or not and whether i enable it in the System settings, it doesn't make any different i'm always getting the same download & upload speed.

I'm switching to Teltonika 5G Router which works much better.

Nobody here has mentioned with what antenna hardware they connect to the TS9 ports.

I have purchased a Triax O5A 06W 360-degrees antenna, which has SMA male connections.

The Predator X5 has TS9 female connections, so I have additionally purchased two Nedia SMA female to TS9 male adaptors in goldplated copper. I am awaiting for these to arrive and will give feedback when they do.

I was tempted to buy via Amazon but have had bad experiences with non-working gadgets shipped directly from China.

Received the two Nedia SMA female to TS9 male adaptors in goldplated copper. After trying them out with the Triax O5A 06W 360-degrees antenna plugged in to the Predator X5 router - there is no difference. The TS9 plugs sit very loose and pops out of their female sockets when moving the router.

Same problem with me. Bought antennas and cables for about 200 USD and the router for 500 USD. The antenna does not seem to make a difference…

Exactly same problem here. External antenna does not seem to work and support is not being helpful.
Anybody found a way to revert an older version?

Glad I found this as I was sure the software setting did nothing! Only way around this is to void your warranty and do a HW fix - you can disconnect the internal antennas and connect external antennas instead. You'll need a U.FL to SMA pigtail connector. The existing U.FL connectors pop off easily, and you then just connect the pigtail in place, and make a hole in the case to seat the SMA in. See router-mods<dot>co<dot>uk for an example. I've done this with a directional 2x2 Poynting XPOL-2-5G connected in place of antenna 0 and 1, and it works perfectly. However, I'd love to know what all 7 of the internal 4G/5G antennas are used for, as I'm not sure whether replacing 0/1 is the best option. 0/1 certainly allows 4G and 5G connections, but I'm assuming it doesn't allow all bands. I also have a 2x2 Poynting omni-directional XPOL-1-5G that I could try using to replace another pair of internal antennas… but I'd rather have an answer on what the internal antennas are each used for, rather than trial and error!

Anybody happen to know? I'm also going to try Acer Support, but I'm not expecting that they'll give this detail, even though they should, especially given the broken software switch to use external antennas.
