Hello,

Ik have the Acer XZ342CUP Curved Ultrawide, and according to the Tech specs this monitor should have a Color Depth of 8 bpc
https://www.acer.com/us-en/monitors/gaming/nitro-xz2/pdp/UM.CX2AA.P05

However in Windows 10 in the Display settings it shows a color depth of 6 bpc.
I am using an Asus TUF Gaming RX 6900 XT (AMD) GPU and also the AMD Adrenalin software shows the color depth of 6 bpc.
If i try to set it to 8 bpc in the Adrenalin software the screen just goes black for a second and comes back but the Color Depth is still at 6 bpc.

Are the specs of this display incorrect or is my display broken ?

Yes, published spec indicates it should be 24-bit total RGB color depth, so 8-bits for each color. So maybe you got a lemon. Or maybe production changes were made without to a cheaper panel. Or maybe your software isn't reporting correctly. I doubt the display is broken. However, before jumping to any conclusions, I suggest going to this link, downloading and installing the Windows drivers and display widget app. You can also download the user manual from the same link.

Thank you for your response but the page in the provided link does not have any downloadable contents.
And regarding drivers, I am using the AMD GPU drivers, I never used any monitor drivers before. But I am also in search for the ICC profile for this monitor which is also nowhere to be found.

EDIT: I found a post on Reddit which helped me out.
So I ams using the monitor on Display Port and set the refresh rate to 144Hz in the Windows 10 Advanced display settings.
But then it can only handle 6 bpc. When I set the refreshrate to 120 Hz, the display color depth is recognised as 8 bpc
