touchpad suddenly stopped working.
Updated both serial IO and touchpad drivers from acer website. Also tried deleting and reinstalling.
No touchpad option in BIOS. Tried ctrl+S in Main tab in BIOS as suggested by some forums. Did not work.
Tried the fn + f7. Did not work.
No ELAN tab in mouse settings.
Download the ETD Properties from Microsoft app store to see if device is disabled. No device listed.
My touchpad settings look like this:
Please help :(
Hi,
Could you please post the full model name of the laptop, like SF5xx-xx, in the meantime, go to BIOS screen and move to Main tab, if you see Touchpad mode, switch to Advanced mode from Basic mode, if you don't see the Touchpad option, like in the picture, press Ctrl+S buttons together, switch to I2C and see whether it helps.
Any red or yellow warning symbols displayed anywhere upon opening Device Manager? If none, press WIN+R. Enter ‘main.cpl’. Click hardware tab. Post screenshot of result if possible.
Try reinstalling the USB host controlers. The touchpad sits on an internal USB port and Microsoft has been mucking with them for a couple of years now.
My laptop model is SF514-55TA.
I have tried going into the BIOS and pressed Ctrl-S on the main screen but there is still no touchpad option.
No warnings in Device Manager,
Which is the USB host contoller? I am sorry if this is a noob qn.
Go to Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, right click and select uninstall, reboot and the system will reinstall the drivers.
In addition to above, download ad reinstall Serial IO drivers from Acer Support site.

My touchpad is suddenly working again!
But I can't do any multi-finger gestures like scrolling. Can't find anything online.
Most of them talk about the multi-gesture touchpad settings. But that does not exist in mine.
There's no touchpad tab in mouse properties too.
Check the hardware tab in mouse properties. Did the touchpad gestures ever work?
Can you send a screenshot of that tab?
This is the hardware tab. Yes it was working before the touchpad suddenly stopped working.
I have already screenshotted in the earlier post but here it is again.
Click on the highlighted Elan properties button. Post screenshots of Driver and Events tab if possible.
Events only start on 14 Mar snice I deleted and reinstalled the drivers then
I would try disconnecting the lithium battery and touchpad connector:
