Why won't audio play on my brand-new acer nitro xz0 monitor?

I just bought a new acer nitro xz0 curved gaming monitor, and the audio won't work. I've ensured that the settings on both my pc and monitor are not muted, volume is all the way up, if I plug in headsets to the pc, audio works. If I plug in a different monitor that has speakers using the same hdmi cord that I use for this monitor, the sound works.

There are many XZ0 series monitors. Some with and some without speakers. Here are two recent offerings. Are either of these your model?
