    Hi @editinghero

I would stick to exactly the same battery model that came with the latop or get exactly the same battery model number, brand and Acer partnumber if your battery is bad. A higher capacity battery or more cells can cause start up issues (laptop won't start). I have been there and done that😉

I don't recommend it, how many hours do you get on a full charge, no big videos, no gaming, just browsing the internet etc.?

That sounds like 2 of your battery cells have died, create a Battery Report in Windows by typing (or Copy&Paste) the following command in Command Prompt opened as Administrator:

    powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html

Open the report by double clicking on the “battery_report.html” icon on your desktop and compare last Fully Charged Capacity with the Designed Capacity, if your present fully charged capacity is 70% lower than designed capacity you need to buy a new battery, with exactly the same Acer part number, model and brand that you have now. If you are on Balanced Power Plan in Windows11 and only 1 or 2 programs running in start (Task Manager, Start tab) with low-medium impact you should get 4-5 hours (4 if you start charging at 20%) on a full charge after you have installed a new battery.

    Hi @editinghero

Your battery Wear Level is 40% should still be OK for 2 hours on a full charge but I noticed that on March 4-5 you let the battery drain below the 5% threshold (Capacity Remaining) and that may have caused some damage to your battery. A new battery is warranted after 500 load cycles, your history only covers a few days last week, what is your capacity now after 10 days? The history shows it is losing 1% charge/day/cycle that is a very poor battery condition (battery would be dead after 2 months at that rate). This is a 2 cell battery and by the looks of it 1 cell is near its death. How old is the battery (>3 years?) and is it still the original battery that came with your laptop from Acer? There are many larger 4 cell, 37Wh, batteries advertized on the web for your model but Acer recommends the smaller 2 cell 37Wh battery only. The 4 cell may not fit.

My advise is to buy a new battery ($40-50) and set your power plan to warn you at a low battery level of 20% and to shut down the system before 10%. If you don't get 4-5 hours on a full charge with your brand new battery (same model, brand and capacity you have now) let me know and we will check what apps you have running, that you don't really need, by booting in Safe mode and then check how long a full charge lasts till it drains to 20%😉
