Acer Nitro XR383 - KVM switch - switch with monitor input?

I have attached my Laptop via the USB-C port and attached mouse and keyboard to two of the USB-A downstream ports. My desktop computer is connected via DP cable and USB3 cable.

To switch between the two, I have to: switch the monitor input + find the "USB Port Select" in the system settings and switch between “B-Type” and "C-Type".

Can I set it up so that USB is toggled together with the monitor input?
Or, if that is not an option: Is there an faster way to toggle USB than to go down in the system menu and select the port there?

Not exactly sure what you're trying to do. But usually cannot switch from one video-in port (for example DP-in) to another video-in port (for example HDMI-in) on the montior without first turning the monitor off.

Well, I never had any monitor in my live that had multiple inputs and that I had to turn off to select another input.
Fortunatly, this also works with the Acer, otherwise it would have gone straight back to the packaging and returned.

What I would like to do is that the KVM switches its input WITH the change of the monitor input, like other monitors from other companies can do, and what doesn't seem to be a weird and strange concept. Everyone I talk about this is baffled how this Acer monitor doesn't seem to be able to do this.
So currently I am thinking that though it might have a bad user interface that doesn't make this feature obvious, that this feature must exist in this monitor.

Still not clear on what you're trying to do. Perhaps you should return it to the vendor for a refund or exchange on a monitor from another company.

The KVM impl. of this monitor is extremely clunky. You can switch the Display signal via a few button presses but to switch the USB signal you have to open the menu, navigate to “System” and then there select either USB-C or B. Instead it would be better if this setting would automatically switch when you select the display signal or at least have a quick setting to switch it.

There may be a way of doing it using the Display Widget along with the driver from this link. Still not automatic.

I agree with you @Foxer153! I'm having the same question about it on my Acer monitor (a different model but also has KVM switch functions) and to switch from my mac connected via USB-C (DP ALT) to my PC which is connected via HDMI, I have to go into the menu to switch the USB port select from type C to B when I want to switch input from Mac to PC in order to use the keyboard that I have connected to the monitor. It's pretty clunky, I wish Acer would allow us to assign USB ports selection with an input and memorize it so that we don't have to do this everytime.

Wondering about the same issue. shouldn't be to hard to link a usb input to a desired display input. I actually find it frustrating as the menu is not even available to make the switch until it receives a display signal. the usb link to the screen wont load until you log into windows, effectively locking you out… it also has three switches from which two can be configured as a hot key to access a desired function, why the option to allocate the usb input is not even there is pretty strange given the kvm switch is a specific feature of the display. Come on Acer, fix this with a firmware update please..
