I have a A514-54-501Z. i use this laptop outside for cars ( I am a ford tech). and i been noticing my pc has been really hot and been thermal throttling and did verify using hwinfo. it was reaching temps of 85c+ and as i was inspecting my pc i notice the fan was not on. i found a form that says to do a bios reset and i did that and the fan turns on in bios and will stay on till pc is cool than turn off and wont come back on even when pc is overheating and will only come on in bios full blasting than turn off again. i made sure all my driver are up to date and made sure my bios was updated and still having issue and it will drop to almost 400mhz and i cant fine any software control to control the fan. can someone please help.

Inspect the wires and plug connections of the fan to the mobo, if there is any lose or broken wire connections, if there are, get a new fan (look at the existing fans part number and get the same one from the web) and replace the fan with a new one, as your fan has got problems and its not responding to the software that controls the temps of your cpu, as there are no sensors that control a fan in your laptop, its all software based and your existing fan is not responding to that because its faulty, so get a new one, clean the cpu and heatsink apply a high grade paste and that’s it.
