My Aspire A515-54 doesn't let me login with the password, it is asking me for a PIN, and then I get the following message “to try again, enter A1B2C3 below..” and then it wants me to enter a “Challenge phrase”.

I know nothing about a PIN and a Challenge phrase. I tried everyting I could and I am truly stuck and I have a business to run! Here is the information of my Laptop:

Aspire A515-54 series

Model #: N18Q13

SNID: XXXXX

I purchased this new ACER Laptop approx 3 yrs ago and just started using it 3 weeks ago. It was packed away in my moving boxes. I know the warranty is probably expired but I really need help getting unstuck please.

I haven't been able to login to this ACER for a little over weeks now and I'm sending you this message from my old beat up Laptop.

My name is Hélène Lemoy and if you need more info from me please let me know.

Thank you so much!

Have you ever been able to login to this Acer with a password?

I have an ASpire A315 with Identical problem as HELL62 above. Have been using for 3 years using my password but suddenly I was presented with enter PIN instead of enter password. and then enter Challenge Please. Is this a Hack?

Google search the keywords 'A1B2C3 below' for possible solutions. There are many and may require factory system reset.

    Hi @HELL62 and @Bazzooka

Since both your latops are 3 years old I assume that you had originally Windows10 Home and later upgraded to Windows11?

I attach 2 tutorials how to reset your pin, 1 for W11 and 1 for W10, both methods assume you know your Microsoft account password:

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/enable-or-disable-reset-pin-at-sign-in-in-windows-11.3313/

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7312-reset-pin-your-account-windows-10-a.html

This PIN security reset issue happens from time to time it has to do with the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip in your laptop.
