[Region: Poland] Do I lose warranty if I will replace RAM memory DDR4 with DDR5 in Acer Nitro 5?

Hello friends - the topic has been discussed many times, but the latest information is from a few years ago - I would like to make sure that it is still up to date.

Laptop warranty in Poland

1. If I decide to replace the RAM from DDR4 to DDR5 - do I lose the warranty or not?
2. Do I need to keep my previous DDR4 RAM modules?
3. In the event of a failure, do I have to remove the new DDR5 and insert DDR4 before returning the laptop for service? I was thinking of selling and getting rid of DDR4

Regards
Rafał

What laptop model do you have? As Acer installs the best priced ram and M.2 ssd’s that they can get a deal on to keep costs down and perform to your laptops best specs and what Acer can get, this is what all manufacturers do with their run of the mill ram and ssd's. The majority of laptops that are sold never have the max capacity ram that they can work with or the speediest ssd's, this is a budget thing and for manufacturers to be competitive with their laptops. Also, all these laptops and desktops ram can be upgraded, its in their manuals, and it does not void their warranty, it’s the same with changing the M.2 boot ssd drive or adding another M.2 ssd drive, which most laptop have these days, as changing the ram to a completely new ram and especially to a kit form of either 2x or 4x ram modules that is documented in the manuals that will not void your warranty even if you sell your old ram.

My AN515-56 Acer memory specs are that this laptop can have a max total of 84GB into its 2x ram slots. I’ve updated my AN515-56 laptop from its oem 1x 8GB DDR4-3200MHz CL22 type ram to a 2x 32GB DDR-3200Mhz type ram and also its oem 512GB M.2 SSD PCIe 3 x4 oem WD NS530 boot drive to the higher speed 1TB WD NS770 black type drive and I’m not worried about this laptop Acer warranty being voided, as Acer suggest 64GB max total as I haven’t done anything or altered or modified any of its internals and/or construction, which if you do then the laptop/desktop warranty will be voided.

The laptop warranty will not be void if you going to upgrade or replace it. But make sure no other parts get damaged, since it will void the warranty.

While sending it for repair do not remove the RAM from the laptop, you can send it with the RAM which came along with the unit.

@Jack22 - thx for Your answer.

    I wanted to elaborate

Lets suppose I am changing 2x8GB DDR4 to 2x16GB DDR4 (I already know that I will not replace DDR4 with DDR5 because they will not match with motherboard). In such a situation, 2x8GB will be redundant for me.

So you advise not to get rid of old modules?
