Does the Acer Aspire 5 A515-45 support DisplayPort Alternate Mode?

I recently bought an Acer Aspire 5 notebook (specifically the Aspire 5 A515-45-R683 model with an AMD Ryzen™ 5 5500U processor).

I also purchased a Hama USB-C-Hub (specifically, the model with 5 Ports, 2x USB-A, USB-C, HDMI™, LAN/Ethernet Article number 00200109). My plan was to attach it to my laptop's USB-C port and use it as a docking station to connect my mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc.

Unfortunately, the monitor does not work via the Hama HDMI port and only via the Acer HDMI port directly on the laptop. As best as I can tell, the USB-C port needs to be able to support DisplayPort Alternate Mode. So, I have the following questions:

Does my Acer laptop model support DisplayPort Alternate Mode? I cannot find it in the settings, nor have I been able to find details online.

Is it possible to download a driver to get DisplayPort Alternate Mode working, or is this a hardware issue?

Many thanks in advance for providing some clarity here!

Sorry no. However you can use a USB-to-DisplayPort video signal converter. Other Acer users have reported that the following DP signal converters and docks work on data-only USB ports that don't natively support alternate mode video signal output. Their main drawback are frame rates are not suitable for most gaming, generally around 30Hz.
