AN515-55 Built-in mic is not working

Hey, so - after upgrading from WIN10 to WIN11 mic stopped working. Looks good from device manager perspective and settings but when trying to record sound - recording starts but only thing recorded is silience.

Basically looks good but does nothing what's expected from the microphone. Only weird stuff that can be seen is a message under device in device manager: Device settings for SWD\MMDEVAPI\{0.0.1.00000000}.{0a068308-1043-44b1-9f57-35c2404e6f05} were not migrated from previous OS installation due to partial or ambiguous device match.

What have I tried:

  1. Removed and added device again
  2. Updated drivers to the lastest from the Acer page
  3. Checked settings and made sure that mic is enabled
  4. Played with all those weird settings of Windows like exclusive use of microphone
  5. Checked with external headset - both mic and sound are working properly

Non of the above helped.

Any clue what to check next?

    Including chipset & io drivers?

    yup, done that as well

Got a suggestion from acer helpdesk to reinstall windows11 but that sounds like bit overkill and second last step before sending notebook for maintenance.

Download and install iobit's DriverBooster freeware to see if it can pick up any better audio drivers online

    Thanks JackE,

DriverBooster found some new version of drives and even updated the device. But no luck I'm afraid - still it doesn't work :/

Try installling the Acer Win10 audio drivers in Win11's Win10 compatibility mode. Right click properties on the driver executable. Click compatiblity tab in box that pops up. Then choose Win10 compatiblity mode.
