Acer swift 3 (SF313-52-58DH) defective screen, no built-in or external output

Hello, I have anacer swift 3 (SF313-52-58DH) and the screen suddenly stopped working during use. The laptop still switches on, the keyboard lights up and the fan activates but there is no power on the screen and no display even if I connect it to external screens. I sent it to the acer repair service who have said the laptop has been tested and the screen is defective, so needs to be replaced. What I would like to understand is, if everything but the LCD panel is working, why is there no display on an external screen? I would appreciate any possible insights :)

If you try to connect to an external screen and you have no display then we know it's not just the display hardware. The keyboard back light and fan only require power, so we know the power circuit is energizing things. What we don't know for sure is if the motherboard is starting up, getting through POST and launching Windows. We have seen some instances on other modern systems where the BIOS gets screwed up by a Windows update. When that's the case opening it up, disconnecting both the battery and the CMOS battery, then pressing and holding the power button for a inute or so to bleed off any residual electricity can sometimes get it back up. First though try a bettery reset if you have one. If you do there will be a pinhole on the bottom of the laptop. Diconnect everything including the power supply, then use something like a SIM tool or bent paperclip to press and hold the reset for 15-30 seconds. Release the button and wait 15-30 minutes, then plug only the power in. Wait for it to indicate a full battery and try turning it on again.

If pressing the FN key along with the two top row display keys (shown below) fails to turn the lid screen screen or external screen on, it's likely the CPU/GPU has failed, probably due to overheating.

Thanks for your answers. I tried draining the battery and re-charging before sending the laptop to acer and it didn't help. As I mentioned, the acer repair service said they tested the laptop and they needed to replace the screen. Because their quote for this was quite expensive, I decided to replace the screen myself and am waiting for a new one to arrive. In the meantime, I am trying to understand what the problem could be which prevents any external output but can be solved by screen replacement.

If the external monitor doesn't toggle on with the function key combination posted earlier, then it's unlikely that replacing the internal screen will solve the problem.
