Hello

I tried to expand memory in my laptop from 512 to 1512 GB. (512 GB m.2 +1tb m.2). I installed new SSD, but i cant use it... I see this SSD in intel rapid storage manager, but not in windows disk manager. I tried fix it, and now i have 1TB visible im windows, but still missing 512 GB (still shown in intel software). I did factory reset, factory reset from USB, but nothing helped.

In bios i dont have option to turn off RAID option.

Please

You don't expand memory with an M.2 drive on the Nitro 5 AN515-54 laptop, to increase memory you need to upgrade the ram capacity, and you need to change the ram modules to higher capacities (see the System memory specs and the memory combinations specs below) also this laptop has provisions for 2x M.2 PCIe 3x42 drives and 1x 2.5"SATA-3 drive of either a mechanical drive or an SSD drive.

You can fit PCIe3x4 M.2 SSD drives (as this laptop came out when PCIe3x2 were areound which are hard to get now) and the reaon why your new drive is not showing or recognized, is because you haven't formatted it and brought it online. Insert the new drive into the laptop M.2 slot, right click on the windows icon in tak bar, then click on Disk Management that will bring Disk Management up as that new 1TB drive will show up, then in Disk Management right-click on the uninitialized drive in the bottom left corner and choose Online from the contextual menu and then do the same once the disk is online and format it, as all that will bring this new disk to be recognized and you can use it as a slave or clone it for a boot drive.

Also, Acer fits oem PCIe3x4 M.2 SSD drives for this laptop like the WD SN720 (WD N8SP4-SDAPNTW-512G-1014) tyep M.w drive to this laptop and its a very speedy M.2 drive, you can definatley fit 1TB or even 2TB drives as they will work 100% with this laptop. Btw, I've just done the same to a Nitro AN515-56 and cloned a new PCIe 3 x4 1TB WD SN770 Black type drive as a boot drive and used the oem M.2 PCIe3 x4 WD SN530 as a slave drive and it works 100% and perfectly, if you are going to clone the new 1TB M.2 SSD to a boot drive, always do it internally as its 1000% quicker than using an external adaptor with a cloning software.
