Good night, i was using my Acer Swift 1 and suddenly a window popped up and says No Bootable Device. I have tried everything that I found online regarding changing the boot from UEFI to Legacy but i cannot get the option to change the boot sequence. Please help me I dont know what to do. Thank you

The signs that you have said that are happening is because your boot hard drive is faulty and that is why your operating system does not boot, you need a new HDD for your Swift 1 and reinstall the OS and start again and if you have valuable and personal files on the other HDD then take this faulty HDD toi a recovery technitian to recover the drive, don't try to recover the dat yourself as you will destoy and make the data unrecoverable.

Why would this happen without cause? not dropped not banged, why suddenly? The computer was purchased about 2 years ago, not that old and limited programs. My mom uses it to play games online. She was playing a game and suddenly the screen went black and the no bootable device came on the screen.

    Hi @Blueyez

I read that Swift 1 comes with a 250 GB SSD and unlikely causes hardware problems, probably the boot sector on the SSD is corrupted, best to turn in your laptop to an Acer Service point to reload all the Acer drivers, firmware and latest OEM OS. Charges will be minimal. To transfer your data to another PC, get an USB ATA cable for your SSD and connect it as an external drive to any USB port of a Windows10-11 computer to copy your data (don't bother with system files), If the SSD is not recognized by the host PC because internal and external drives both are labled as C:\, open Disk Manager and change the external SSD name to D: or E: but make sure you are changing the correct external drive name (250GB) and not the internal drive. After copying your data reformat the external SSD for security/privacy and install the SSD back in your laptop for service (Acer will ask your permission to reformat the SSD).

We need to know just which Swift 1 model you have, so we can try to determine what type of drive is installed now and what types are supported with your system. There have been literally hundreds of different Swift 1 SKUs over the years, with sometimes pretty radical hardware differences. Look on the same sticker as your serial number and you should see a model number that looks something like SF1xx-xxx-xxxx. Do you know what size drive came with it? Typically the smaller drives were eMMC and they have a much shorter lifetime than the larger drives that are either in an M.2 slot or on a SATA port.

I don't see a SF1xx-xxx model number in there, you looked at the sticker than has your serial number? The eMMC drive has likely failed.
