Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade RAM on an Acer Aspire 5 A515-47-R6CR. Couple questions, 1) what is the max RAM supported? I cant find any documents anywhere telling me what that number is. And 2) is there any report of that number being surpassed? I read somewhere that "The number of cells on the same area doubles on average every 5 years and thus the capacity of the technically possible working memory." Is this true in anyone's experience? Thanks

    Hi @QC3712

If you have 8GB DDR4 memory (which is sufficient for Windows 11) and you like more (for heavy gaming?) I recommend that you buy one identical DDR4 module that is soldered or in a memory slot in your laptop. This will double your speed (Dual Channel) but you need to get exactly the same DDR4 that you have now. To find out the specs of your present DDR4, open Command Prompt (as administrator) and type:

wmic MemoryChip get Banklabel, Capacity, Configuredclockspeed, Devicelocator, FormFactor, Manufacturer, Serialnumber, Speed

I don't understand your question “The number of cells on the same area doubles on average every 5 years…….”😶
