Like the title says, my laptop (aspire a315-42g) isn't turning on but when I plug the charger, the orange light indicator for charging blinks once every few seconds.

I would really appreciate any help because I really need this laptop and I can't afford to buy another one

A blinking orange or amber light indicates that the battery is low. The orange light will start blinking once the battery power falls below 10 percent. If the battery has plenty of power but the orange light is blinking, you may have a damaged and defective laptop charger or battery, so check that first.

In most cases a Hard Reset will fix these issues, take the back cover off, then take the main battery out, disconnect the bios battery and take the ram out, leave all components disconnected for 15min aand reconnect all components and boot laptop, this should make your laptop work, if not then there are other charging/power issues that you need to take your laptop to an expert tech in your area as its an internal issue.

Thank you very much for the response. I disconnected the battery and ram but i couldn't disconnect the cmos battery because the connector is very persistent and instead the pins themselves are the ones coming out so i stopped. I'll update you the soonest. Thank you again very much
