Laptop starting up I have the message: ‘Fixing (F)’ and then it’s stage 1, stage 2 & stage 3.

Hello,

since a couple of days my laptop isn’t starting up properly. At startup it always takes several hours because I have the message: Fixing (F) and then it’s stage 1, stage 2 & stage 3.

When just closing the laptop physically (and not shutting it down) it doesn’t cause a problem so it seems to be a problem with startup.

Does anyone knows this issue? Can it be solved?

Looking forward to your reaction

Bianca

    Hi @Biancaneve

Those are not Windows messages but from some other software that is trying to fix something, did you install a 3rd party program recently? If you have a Windows10 Recovery USB Flash drive, you can boot up while your Recovery USB drive is inserted and by pressing the F2 key continuously. BIOS screen should appear, go to the BOOT order page and if you see your USB drive move it to the top. Save on exit (last BIOS screen) and reboot your laptop still with the USB drive plugged in. Now move to the advanced screen and "Restore System to an earlier point" or "Reset" without losing your files.

If you don't have a recovery USB drive, try to borrow one from a friend that runs the same W10 (Home?) version that you have.
