My 3.5mm audio port on my Acer Aspire E5-774G has been unable to detect the tip (left channel) of any 3.5mm audio jack for years and I've been stuck using bluetooth headsets. I hate the audio quality and specifically, every bluetooth headset offers two options, "Headphones" (good quality audio but can't use microphone) and "Headset" (bad quality audio but can use microphone). Now my laptop also has a USB-C port that I've never used but now I'm wondering, can I use a USB-C to 3.5mm audio adapter through this port with my wired headphones to have both good quality audio and the ability to use my headset's microphone? I've heard that some tech is unable to provide audio through USB-C but I also see newer phones these days replacing their 3.5mm audio jack with the USB-C port for both headphones and charging. Someone please help me out here. Thank you!
