Has anyone reported wifi issues with Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (R721T) model N18Q12? The wifi is unsteady - flickers off and on OR shows it's strong but really has no wifi. This probably started happening more frequently since October 2022. Perhaps related to the Google updates but not sure. The classroom had a mix of touchscreen and non. Those with the touchscreen had the issues so I switched them to Acer Chromebook 712 [C871] and everything is fine. Can these Acer Spins be fixed? I tried a factory reset but to no avail.

Your system looks like it has a Qualcomm AC module in it, mounted in an M.2 slot. That means you could replace it with a different manufacturer's design as long as it has ChromeOS drivers. I've seen other people reporting WiFi issues with Qualcomm devices recently, but not enough of them to be a trend. Google might be mucking around with the drivers as they add support for newer chipsets, but it's tough to tell for sure. Are you up to date with OS releases? I think the CB713-1W models use an Intel WiFi card in their M.2 slot.

    Interesting.

We always make sure to check for updates especially when things start to act odd.

I have a call into Google

Yeah, like I said there have been a couple of users running various versions of the Qualcomm chipset that are having issues after an OS update, so I have to assume they're doing changes that need to be fixed....
