Hey so I have started at my school this year with an acer Aspire 3

I need to find a way to stop my f1 from putting my laptop to sleep.

I have tired to look in bios and use remaping software but I kind of don't know what to look for.

Any help would be apricated!

Kindest regards!

Which Aspire 3 model do you have? Do you have a BIOS option to reconfigure those keys as function keys instead of media keys? Sometimes you have to hit a CTRL-S to access additional functions in the BIOS. Then the sleep function would be Fn-F1 instead.

    I figured it out.

    The answer is to:

    1. Open the Control Panel.

    2. In the Control Panel, click Power Options.

    3. In the Power Options window, click the Choose what the power buttons do link in the left navigation pane.

    4. Click the drop-down list for When I press the power button and When I press the sleep button options and select the action to be performed.
