acer nitro 5 The laptop stays warm in sleep mode and does not cool down.

Hello. I recently purchased an acer nitro 5 with a rtx 3070 and i7 11800h. I don't really like that after a gaming session, when I put it to sleep, it doesn't cool down and stays warm. Charger connected to it. It only cools down completely if I turn it off. Please tell me it's normal that he doesn't sleep in sleep mode. It won't hurt him? I don't close the lid of the laptop, but simply put it into sleep mode through the start menu, the keyboard backlight goes out, fans stop. I put it to sleep usually for half an hour and then continue to play and I always turn it off in the evening and go to sleep. And I'm worried why the laptop does not cool down in sleep mode, but cools down when it is completely turned off. In sleep mode, its body remains warm.

If the fans stop it makes it difficult for the laptop to cool down. I would suggest shutting down all gaming applications and all windows and leaving the laptop on and open for maybe 5 to 10 mins and take a temp and see if that cools it faster. This way the fans stay on and dissipate the heat better, instead of it sitting with little to no airflow. Just a suggestion, hope you find what works for you.

Hi, This happened to me with my Acer aspire 7, but soon after I put my Laptop to sleep, it became cool even though I didn't close my GPU-intensive applications like Altium Designer and Matlab.

It's normal for a high-performance laptop like the Acer Nitro 5 with an RTX 3070 and i7 11800H to remain warm in sleep mode; This is because some components, such as the CPU and GPU, may still be in use, which generates heat. To help reduce the temperature, you can place the Laptop on a hard, flat surface, clean the air vents and fans, adjust power settings, use a cooling pad, or turn off the Laptop when not in use. If necessary, monitoring the temperature and consulting a professional is also recommended.

What matters here is how long it will stay warm and whether does battery drain very quickly due to that, lets say you put your laptop to sleep at 70%, and after 15 minutes, it drops to 20 % or so

Even my HP laptop takes a while to stop operations when put to sleep, so this is pretty common when we use intensive tasks and put it to sleep.

@Andrew_Sn It will be warm for a couple of minutes or even less, and It was not warm, but when I close my laptop when doing a GPU intensive tasks, it will be warm for some time,e and then its cooldown

This was normal for 2 of my laptops, but they won't be warm for long after putting them in sleep mode.

Okay, so it's normal for it to stay warm in sleep mode? I put it to sleep immediately after playing and it's still warm after half an hour.

Hello. It continued to stay warm 20-30 minutes after putting it into sleep mode, it is charging during this time. Its temperature is the same as the normal temperature in idle.

What processes are running when trying to put the PC to sleep? It makes sense the laptop is warm when it is charging

To adjust the power settings to control which processes run when the computer is in sleep mode:

Open the Control Panel: Search the Start menu for "Control Panel."
Click on Power Options: In the Control Panel, click on "Power Options."
Choose a power plan: Select one you want to modify.
Click on "Change plan settings": Click on the link for the power plan you wish to modify.
Click on "Change advanced power settings": In the next screen, click on the link for "Change advanced power settings."
Configure sleep settings: In the Advanced Power Options screen, expand the "Sleep" section and then expand the "Allow hybrid sleep" or "Allow wake timers" option. You can change the setting to "Off" to prevent processes from running while the laptop is in sleep mode.

To manually end processes before putting the laptop into sleep mode:

Open the Task Manager: Right-click the taskbar, select "Task Manager," or press "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" to open the Task Manager.
End running processes: In the Task Manager, select the functions you want to end and click "End Task." The first steps are done on my laptop, and is not very warm, but it is warm during sleep or charging
