You will need to re install the os, on the windows site there is something called the media creation toolkit which will create a install usb stick , so before you swap the drives, create an install USB and you are good to go

You can then use this to re install the operating system

    Hello

here are the technical steps to replace the hard drive on your Acer Aspire E 15 and install Windows 10:

    1. Backup all important data:
    • Connect an external storage device to your Acer Aspire E 15.
    • Copy all important data from your current hard drive to the external storage device. This includes personal files, documents, pictures, videos, music, and any other data you want to keep.
    1. Create Windows 10 installation media:
    • Go to the Microsoft website to download the Media Creation Tool.
    • Follow the instructions to create a bootable USB drive with the Windows 10 installation files.
    1. Install the new hard drive:
    • Turn off your Acer Aspire E 15 and disconnect all cables and external devices.
    • Locate the hard drive compartment on your laptop, which is usually located on the bottom panel.
    • Remove the screws securing the hard drive to the laptop and gently remove the hard drive from the compartment.
    • Install the new hard drive in the hard drive compartment and secure it with screws.
    1. Boot from the installation media:
    • Turn on your Acer Aspire E 15 and press the key to enter the BIOS or UEFI (usually F2 or Del).
    • Navigate to the Boot menu and set the boot order to boot from the USB drive first.
    • Save the changes and exit the BIOS or UEFI.
    1. Install Windows 10:
    • Windows 10 setup will start automatically when you boot from the installation media.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 10 on the new hard drive.
    • Enter your Windows 10 product key when prompted.
    • Choose the custom installation option to format and partition the new hard drive.
    • Wait for the installation process to complete, which may take several minutes to an hour, depending on your system's configuration.
    1. Restore your data:
    • Once Windows 10 is installed, connect the external storage device with your backup data.
    • Copy the data from the external storage device to the new hard drive.
    • Install all necessary drivers and software to ensure that all components of your Acer Aspire E 15 are functioning correctly.
    • Thanks and please leave a like if this helps

The easiest and most straightforward way to migrate your system to a new HDD or SSD is to back up your present entire disk to a large external USB backup drive using Windows7 backup (in Windows10-11) "Create an Image file" or download the free EaseUS Todo program, both programs will let you create a USB recovery Flash drive (Windows will install Windows RE on the flash drive and EaseUS installs their own program to restore EaseUS backup files). Your USB recovery flash drives need to be larger than 10GB and FAT32 formatted.

Initialize your new HDD/SSD in an external USB case/cable using Windows Disk Manager and select the same boot system of your present disk GPT (UEFI) or MBR.

Replace your old disk with the new one and boot up with the USB recovery drive mentioned above (Windows USB to restore the image file or the EaseUS USB if you used that program to backup). These programs will restore all your data with the Acer drivers and OEM Windows’s system.

If you want to upgrade to a new Windows version or a fresh Windows system you can do that now but never reformat your drive.

If your present system is corrupted, cannot restore/reset Windows with a recovery USB follow the instructions from others above to reinstall Windows from scratch keeping in mind you will lose the original OEM version of Windows (designed for your laptop) and all Acer drivers those need to be installed manually from the Acer Support site.

If you have questions, let me know and I will guide you through the process😉
