Laptop died, albeit with screen still active but blank. Tried battery reset procedure and it came back to life as far as logging in, but as soon as we tried to open a programme or do anything it died again. Now after another battery reset procedure it won’t power up at all (with or without power chord - with battery showing blue LED as fully charged). Have put a call into ACER but any other ideas welcome!

OK, first step is if you did the full battery reset or just pushed the button? A press of the button is essential just a power off, the rest is done by first disconnecting everthing, including the power, then press and hold the button for 15-30 seconds, then release the button and wait. After a few minutes plug just the power back in and wait for the full battery indication, then turn it on and see if it's back to normal. If it's normal again then we know the issue was likely just the battery getting confused. If you are still seeing the issue then it's time to contact Acer support, assuming you are in still in warranty, and let them fix it. If you are out of warranty let us know and we'll dig deeper into diagnostics.
