I would like to add a Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD to my N50-640. The SSD seems to fit in the slot ok. HOWEVER there is no screw to attach to the hole ? Have I got the correct slot ? Do I need a screw to hold the SSD to the raised "button" ? See attached picture

Yes, that is the correct slot, but you need this screw to secure the M.2 SSD drive properly. You need to buy this screw if it wasn't supplied with your desktop, as usually this screw is screwed into that slot in most PCs.

The M.2 securing screw is an M2L25 type screw (look it up on he web) that is highlighted, and all the screws used in the N50-620 desktop:

Hi Andybhoy! I also have n50 640, came with 1 tb in one slot. I want like you add ssd in that free slot in your picture.

Did you keep (if you had) that preinstalled ssd in slot under fan?

Did it all work after installation for you?

    Hi Isac

I didn't have preinstalled SSD in slot under fan.

I ordered correct screw online. It all worked fine - just be careful . I dropped the screw and it disappeared. I had a hard time locating it.
