Can I upgrade my P03-640 to 128GB DDR4 RAM?

I'm looking into an upgrade from the standard 16Gb RAM. I'm using the Predator Orion 3000 P03-640 with an i5-12400F processor.

I checked out my machine using crucial advisor and it reckons i can push out 128Gb. I checked with Intel here that these 2nd gen i5s can handle it but it seems to be DDR4 / DDR5 dependant. Sadly there seems to be no real clarity on it.

My PC runs on DDR4 SDRAM, so do you think the 128Gb potential is perhaps misguided in this case?

Should note I'm not actually able to access the PC right now because I'm away working! Otherwise I'd have done a proper crucial scan. Also, for my general knowledge, can you give me the full spec i need to consider for my upgrade? pins, CL number etc...?

ac89 look in your owner's manual online it WILL tell you EXACTLY how much it can run. as for the rest with the timings etc i trust crucial and used their scanner for my Predator Orion 5000 and i got what they recommended, and it runs flawless.

I saw this post, but it references an i7 processor instead of an i5 which made it seem not quite useful for me.

thank you, the manual checks at 64gb and i think the processor does need ddr5 to make it to 128gb after some research. thank you!

no, yours can only run a maximum of 64 gig of ddr4 yours cannot run ddr5 only the 5000 and 7000 series run ddr5 64 gig. if you want to run ddr5 then you would have to return your 3000 series and get a 5000 series if possible and if Ya can't just put in 64 gig and upgrade your cooler like me and others have that's the only weakness our predator models have and its all of them its cooling problems when gaming only. and for some strange reason acer seems to limit us all in any series to a maximum 64 gig no matter if its ddr 4 or ddr 5 i just noticed that so who knows why.
