6 month old predator Acer x34 sudden burn-in My monitor is set to turn off after 15 minutes

Hello all,

Purchased an Acer x34 predator about 6 months ago and today I came back to see some nasty burn-in after leaving to go to the restroom. My monitor is set to turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity so I’m not really sure how this happened.

I reached out to support through eBay as I purchased on the refurb store. They said they were unable to help as it was outside the 90-day warranty window (despite advertising 2-year warranty).

I attached a picture of what a grey screen looks like. You can see my teams, macOS bar, wallpaper and weird lines.

Any advice? Support recommended I take it to Best Buy or Staples. Doubt they can actually repair it and I’m tempted to just cut my losses. Just really bummed dropping $500 on this you only last 6 months.

You need to get into contact with Acer in your area and have the eBay receipts if its a legit "Acer eBay refurb store"??? as and if Acer does not recognize this retailer or their Acer products refurbished items, then your warranty is useless if its been opened and fixed by anyone else.

The official Acer Warranty as stated by Acer of a 3 Years Pickup and Return Warranty is only valid if the monitor is refurbished officially by Acer and bought from Acer! Its not honored for a refurbished Predator X34 monitor that has been refurbished by a none approved Acer techs and you will have to get this monitor fixed yourself at your own cost. I think that the eBay Refurb Place that you bought this from has a 90-day warranty and that has expired and your X34 is your responsibility now as Acer will NOT honor their warranty if it was refurbished by anyone., that is what is happening with your X34 Predator monitor.

Acer's refurbished units have a 90 day warranty, just as the seller said. Acer Recertified does sell on eBay, as well as on acerrecerified.com, but the warranty is that same from both venues.
