I have been thinking of upgrading my CPU from the stock I5 11400F. My system (500w stock psu) has the i5+3060ti+hdd (barracuda 2tb)+1x m.2 ssd installed (stock drive) and 32Gb (that I upgraded from the stock 16GB 3200mhz sticks). I'm not sure whether to stick the CPU TDP of 65w or buy an i7 11700k that has a TDP of 125w. Is it ok to put a higher TDP?

You should stay with the recommended 65watt CPUs in the specs shown below. There is virtually no performance difference without trying to overclock the CPU and risking mainboard issues.
