Swift 3 What could be the problem because my laptop's screen suddenly went dark back lights are off

While I was using mu Acer Swift 3 laptop. the screen suddenly turned off. the back lights are off but the program is still running. what could be the cause of this? and is it expensive to replace the parts?

Do a hard reset, turn the laptop off, take the back cover off disconnect the main and bios batteries and take the ram out, leave all parts disconnected for 15min and then reconnect and reboot, as that resets your laptops startup chip and bios chip that could be the problem, also its about the only thing that a user like you can do.

If the laptop still has a black screen and no image, then its an internal problem and if you are lucky its only a faulty screen eDP cable/plugs that connects the screen to the mobo or if you are unlucky then its a shorted eDP cable plug(s) at the screen or mobo or its the actual screen that needs replacing. For these faults, its best to take your laptop to an experienced tech in your area so that he can diagnose your laptop and change the appropriate faulty parts.
