Acer Aspire 5 A515-52-51EL internal SSD upgrade options

Hi.

I'm a newbie and I did it a mistake.

I bought a Crucial MX500 1000GB 2.5 inch SSD to upgrade my laptop replacing my internal SSD.

Unfortunately after opening my laptop I just realized that I bought the wrong SSD ! My new 2.5 inch SSD is not compatible with the existing M.2 2280 SSD !

My laptop has an internal SanDisk X600 256 GB M.2 2280 SSD (see photos of my open laptop...)

Now I have two options:

1) replace the existing M.2 2280 SSD disk with a bigger one, 1 TB.

Can you please suggest me some M.2 2280 SSD brands/models compatible with my laptop?

2) try to fit the 2.5 inches SSD from Crucial in the empty space of the laptop (left in the photo).... What parts do I need and where to buy them?

How do I set the 2.5 SSD to the laptop and connect it to it with a cable? Is it worth considering buying parts to fit the 2.5 SSD inside the laptop?

You can safely go for the second option.

All you need to buy is a 2.5 inch ssd upgrading kit , which comes with a 2.5 ssd caddy and a cable (2.5 ssd to motherboard connector)

I would spend 32 euro + 4 euro delivery, i.e. 36 euro... maybe it's work investing double that money and buy a quicker M.2 2280 SSD ?

b) watching my posted motherboard photo, can you please tell me where I find the SSD connector?

can you please upload my motherboard photo with an arrow to show me ssd connector? sorry if I'm too demanding .... :)

btw, is my laptop only compatible with M.2 2280 SATA SSD drives ? May I possibly use a M.2 2280 NVMe SSD drive?

@dif1754 your model should support the NVMe SSD. If you are planning to use the 2.5-inch SATA SSD, the connector will be near the Wifi card like in the picture.
