Hi all,
I recently bough the Acer Swift 5 laptop and it was working fine. But today when I started working, I noticed that the keyboard backlight is not working. I tried restarting it multiple times but it didn't help. According to the image on the function keys, F11 should change the brightness but it has no effect at all. However, if I press F12 then the backlight flickers. I could not find any help on the internet and if this community can resolve this issue I will be really grateful.
[Edited the thread to add issue detail and model number]
Have you tried resetting the battery?
Hi,
Could you please post the full model name of the laptop, like SFxxx-xx
Acer Swift SF514-56T
Hi,
Did you press Fn+F11 buttons together to change brightness? If not, give it a try.
Have you tried resetting the battery?
Yes, I tried but it didn't work
Try the method suggested by @egydiocoelho, switch off the laptop, disconnect from mains, follow the instructions in the video, leave the laptop to rest for 20 Minutes, reconnect AC adapter and try starting the laptop.
As a side note, what could be the reason for such a glitch? I guess it comes in my laptop after the window's regular update.
The problem was solved? Perhaps this occurred through a firmware update.
I was looking to buy the 2022 Swift 5 model. The Acer site does not tell me the model of SSD. I wanted to find out what SSd it uses
specifically the model. Can you check task manager or hardware info on
Windows to see the model of SSD it is? That would be greatly appreciated
before I buy it. I think you just clicked the performance tab in task
manager then click disk and it should show the model number in the top right. Because the specific model makes a big difference in the performance of it, low range ssd or high
