The highlighted chip was associated with the buzzing / coil whine noise. Would fitting a heat sink to this chip solve the problem, as the buzzing noise / coil whine was often associated with heavy gaming and higher temperatures inside the laptop. Someone with the same problem identified this chip as a source of high heat.

The standard solution was to remove the speaker connection which killed the buzzing noise. If the manufacturing defect emerged after your warranty Acer refused to honour a repair, and many like me were stuck with the issue. So, anyone ever tried to fit a heat sink successfully on the chip, an did it work to solve the issue? And did any one else have any luck getting the manufacturing defect repair gratis by Acer after the warranty? My computer is a g5-793 with the same issue.

Does it make the same noise with the charger unplugged?
