I recently purchased a new monitor, but whenever I try to connect it to one of my Windows 11 machines, it fails to connect properly. The screen starts booting up, and any other screens that I have connected to the computer begin to readjust to accommodate the new screen, but then the new monitor resets and the process starts over again.
What I've tried so far:
I've connected to a different machine that uses ubuntu with no issue. Therefore, the monitor seems to be fine, and the cable also works.
Updated Windows
Updated display adapter drivers (I could give specifics, but this failure has occurred on two, very different machines, one of which is brand-new. What they have in common is an AMD processor and Windows 11).
Update BIOS (again, both computers are different, but I will give more info if needed).
Restore BIOS defaults.
Talk to ACER support.
ACER support insisted that this monitor didn't need any special drivers. Is that true? Right now, it looks like my computer uses an old monitor driver from Windows.
Otherwise, what else can I do to debug this? Please let me know if any more info is needed.
