I attempted to clone the original Micron 2450 SSD to a Micron P5 SSD. In the process, something happened to the original SSD C:\ partition. The laptop BIOS shows both drives as present, but the device boots to blue screen. When I attempted to do a fresh install, Windows installer doesn’t recognize either drive. I know others have asked similar questions, but since I cannot simply reinstall/reboot to the original drive, I find myself stuck. I have downloaded the drivers from Micron, but the Windows installer still doesn’t find the installed drives. I’ve not found anything helpful on Microsoft Technet, either. Does anyone have an idea?

I’ve tried unplugging the new SSD, booting with the original drive alone, I’ve swapped slots. I’ve tried the Windows 11 installation media, and Windows 10 installation media, because I saw other people post about issues with Windows 11 recognizing NVMe SSDs. Nothing has worked, yet.

Press and hold power button till laptop shuts off. Then turn it back on again and IMMEDIATELY press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. Does a recovery screen appear to allow you to reset the machine while trying to save your personal files?
