What is the Maximum Ram for an Acer - Aspire 5250 Model P5WE6?

The Laptop is an old Acer - Aspire 5250 Model P5WE6 SNID: 14214600616 It says it was MFG - 1110 so I assume that's 11/2010

It currently has 2 gig of ram and is almost useless, it's so sluggish... What is the Maximum Ram Capacity for this Model? One Place I've looked, says 32gig, another says 8 Gig. I want to make sure before we purchase any ram for it. I'm trying to upgrade it for a friend of mine.

Also, is this the correct type of Ram for it? - Kingston Technology KVR16LS11/8 8GB 1600MHz DDR3L (PC3-12800) 1.35V Non-ECC CL11 SODIMM Intel Laptop Memory. I'd Like to be able to upgrade the system to 16 gig if it will handle it.

The max ram for this laptop is 8GB capacity total into its 2x slots at max speed of DDR3-1600 • CL=11 • NON-ECC • SODIMM • 204-pin • 1.35V • 2Rx8 • PC3-12800 type ram, do a Crucial System Scan as that will tell you the exact ram and sutable SSDs that are compatible for your laptop and will improve this laptops performance with Win-10 100%,

"NO" don't put 1x 8GB DDR3-1600Mhz as the only combo is 2x 4GB DDR3-1600Mhz CL11 type ram, and the exact specs above, as it works in "Dual Channel Mode" and dual channel is the best setup for ram for gaming and all of your laptop's usage with software, plus this laptop does not work with 1x 8GB ram module.

I did a Crucial Scan, but their Ram Price seemed a little high.. that's why I looked at Kingston... Thanks for the info!

Would you suggest 1 8 gig chip or 2 4 gigs? Or doesn't it matter?

I've built PC's in the past but never did much with laptops..

I ordered 2x4Gig from Crucial... Turned out to not be that much more expensive than other sites..

Great, that is a good move and also upgrade the 2.5" SATA3 mechanical HDD to a new SSD, I prefer the Samsung EVO 2.5" drives, as I've used an older 850 EVO SSD for the last 5 years on an old Aspire V3-571G and its never missed a beat and its also quick, as that will also improve your performance in combination with the 2x4GB ram ram tremendously and make this laptop run Win-10 very well as a web browsing and just normal usage.
