Hello. I am Ilko, I am using updated to the best Acer Iconia A500. My question/the issue is: I am using an external mouse via Bluetooth (with an adapter plugged into the USB port of the tablet). When plugged, the mouse is working perfectly, but not the digital keyboard, unplug the adapter, and the keyboard is back to the screen. Please advice. Thank you. I am at bulg52@gmail.com

One possible cause of this issue is that the USB port on the tablet is not able to support both the mouse and the keyboard at the same time. When the adapter is plugged in, it may be using up all of the available power or bandwidth, causing the keyboard to stop functioning.

To resolve this issue, you may need to try using a different USB adapter or hub that is able to support multiple devices at once. Alternatively, you could try using a wired mouse and keyboard instead of Bluetooth, as this may be more stable and reliable.

It is also possible that the issue could be caused by a problem with the Bluetooth adapter or the mouse or keyboard themselves. In this case, you may need to try troubleshooting these devices to see if they are causing the issue.

What is the mouse/keyboard combo model as and if you have two different types you need two different BT dongles. If its a mouse/keyboad combo then check the keyboard if its not damaged and working 100% as the Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Iconia 500 needs updating or resetting,

Acer does not have this Android 4 on the Iconia 500 kernel in its Drivers & Manuals, also read the Acer Iconia A500 documentation of "kernel source code (for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich)" and "media server source code" site.s

For the ROM you will have to find other means to get the ROM, try here as it explains how to flash the ROM Ice Cream Sandwich for Acer Iconia A500. Thanks to Developer thor2002r0 and either install this modified ROM or the original Acer ROM from the link below,

Hello again. Thank you for your prompt response. I do not have a combo of keyboard/mouse. It is just a Bluetooth wireless and A500 compatible mouse, brand new. Iconia has just only one USB port where the adapter is plugged now. The mouse works perfectly but not the digital keyboard. If I unplug the adapter, the keyboard is coming up. I have Android 4.0.3, Kendel version 2.6 39 4+( I do not know what it is) the latest this tablet can hold.

If its not a combo mouse/keyboard with a dongle then its either one or the other that will work, as the Iconia A500 has an internal BT card and it does not work with both the internal card and the dongle, you need to use a mouse that does not have a dongle and connects straight to the A500 BT card like the keyboard, that is your solution.

Good morning. Thank you for your time and consideration to help me out. First off, Happy New Year to you and your family. I am wishing you all the best for this 2023 year. I think your advice and recommendation make sense. I was thinking that having a wireless connection via BT will not disconnect the internal settings for the digital keyboard, although physically connected via the adapter make those changes. Do you have any recommendations on what type of mouse I should have? And the second question: if I purchase a wireless external keyboard/stand, using a USB hub to connect both the keyboard and the mouse I will solve my issue (I understand unplugging them will bring the tablet to operate as is now)? Thank you.

I see your point. Actually, the mouse comes with the adapter, which once plugged into the USB port disables the internal digital keyboard.I tried several USB hubs with no success at all. I also did with the wire and did not get any luck. Perhaps, as you are mentioning in your message, the issue comes from the internal Bluetooth card. Do you think that if I purchase an external keyboard/stand I will be able to use both external devices instead of using the digital keyboard? Thank you.
