Hello,

My notebook doesnt recognize any ssd or hdd installed in the slot.

It doesnt show the drives that i install in the bios neiterh in windows(device manager etc).

When i boot the laptop the hdd drive starts working but after a few seconds after either ethering the bios or windows it stops spinning.

tried all diferrent things in bios .

sata 0 and 1 are enabled.

formatted the drivers gtb and mbr.

tried everything in bios the disk wont appear.

when i plug the same ssd or hdd in a pc they both work with 100 % health.

could it be a faulty sata cable ?

laptop works perfectly fine but only with his original ssd .

thanks in advance

Tap F2 on startup to enter the BIOS menu. Please post a phone photo of the BiOS INFORMATION tab.

Happy New Year to you too. You're 128GB SSD seems to be OK, But the HDD is either not connected, not getting power or has failed.

The intial spinning you hear is normal. It is the cooling fan stiction start-up spin-up/spin-down cycle , not the HDD Is the machine still under warranty?

    Nope ,

Its not under warannty .Is there any chance that the problem could be software problem?

Cause ive searched and tried a lot of things

    >>>.Is there any chance that the problem could be software problem?>>>

Sure but a very low chance. Less than 1% probability. When the HDD doesn't show up in the BIOS Information tab, it's 99+% probability of a hardware issue, not software. The BIOS setting come way before any Windows software is loaded. No HDD detected means a hardware issue. Accordingly, the HDD is either not connected, not getting power or has failed.

The hdd works fine and its 100% health.I also tried another ssd and hdd with the same results. Then its propably no power...

I wanna ask something else as well,i've tried chaning the m2 with another one bigger that i have spare(500gb).It didnt work.

I read that the current model supports both nvme ssd and m 2 sata nvme ,searched in manual didnt find and manual with comapatible ssd etc

from the research on the internet just found that laptops maybe not support all types of m2 drives.

Should i buy specific m2 to upgade my curent and search on the internet what people tried on this model and its actually working?

    Thanks Jacke for the asnwers.

If your 500GB m2 shows up in the BIOS Information tab, then it probably can be made to work. However, some newer NVMEs can be a bit touchy installed in this particular laptop since its PCIe bus is v3 with only 1x or 2x lanes to the CPU. There have been mixed reports from other users on the WD Blue & Samsung EVO v3 NVMEs in this laptop model. The 512GB Intel, Micron/Crucial & Hynix SATA m.2 have been tested by Acer to work in this model. Part nos. KN.5120N.002, KN.51204.032 & KN.5120G.028. However, I expect that it should be able accept up to 2TB m.2 SATA SSDs without issues.
