All the manuals and websites I found on this model say there is a 3.5mm out but I can't find it on the monitor.

Are you using KG241Y or KG241YA or KG241YS or KG241YU

Please look at the back of the monitor. Check the white lable and provide the right model.

I would like to check the specifications by opening the manual which is designed for your computer.

Kindly go through the details captured from service manual designed for KG241YU

    Picture 1

Check the Earphone jack - Output connector - It says yes

Audio speakers are supported for this model.

Please look at the bottom of the monitor, left side and right side and also on the back of monitor. It will be like a round circle. It is a 3.5 mm output jack.

If you are not able to find it then you have to connect the headset on the computer instead of monitor.

The KG241Y is a basic 75Hz monitor and Acer does not have any manuals and/or drivers for it they only list Manuals and Drivers for the KG241YS or the YA or the YU as the KG241Y is the same as below and the 3.5mm out is the headphone port that is shown below as every monitor should have one.

This is the back panel of the KG241YA

The back label says KG241Y Sbiip manufactured in August 2022, but the monitor works at 165Hz just fine.

But it means if you connect a console with HDMI out you have to use a separate audio path to the speakers. That's really wack for a modern monitor made in 2022. It makes zero sense. And in windows audio there is actually an option for Acer but there is no sound output heard, and no settings for sound on the monitor. So the monitor makes my PC think it has speakers even though it really doesn't.

In windows, Realtek only handles 3.5mm stuff. You have to switch to Intel display audio or Nvidia HD audio for hdmi audio.

There have been a lot of different SKUs in the KG241Y S line. When you look at the User Manual you see this:

With pretty much everything optional. Your specific SKU, the biip, according to the Display Specifications website should have two HDMI, one DP and one Audio Out. Can you take a picture of the back showing the ports that are populated?

I am having the exact same problem with this monitor. All of the guides show an audio out but it's not on the monitor

See the Optional wording above? Some SKUs have those populated, some do not. If you don't have the audio-in port, you don't have builtin speakers.
