Hello there,

I would like to know when Acer will upload new drivers for Windows 11 for Helios 500 PH517-51 (Intel based)? Acer also mentioned my laptop in the list of laptops that support Windows 11. At the moment there is no drivers for this OS. Why does Acer says that my laptop can handle Win 11 but can't provide drivers for it? I don't want to install drivers intended for Win 10. There are many drivers that Win 11 can't install from windows update center like Thunderbolt, WavesMaxxAudio, Intel Rapid Storage, etc. Also there is no Predator Sense for Windows 11.

List of issues:

  1. Faded colors in HDR mode after minimizing games with Auto HDR. The only solution is to restart system.
  2. Low GPU usage (60-70%) in some games like Snowrunner, the only way to fix it is to minimize a game then select another window and return to a game.
  3. External monitor flickering (losing signal every 3 seconds). The problem appears on all versions of the Nvidia drivers for Windows 11 since 2021. The only one driver which is work comes with Windows 11 updates after clean install but it's very old and can't support new games.
  4. Random freezing of system after installation of drivers intended for Win 10 from Acer page.
  5. Killer Network drivers eats 20% of CPU time in idle. It's known issue and Intel approved it. Also, this bug appears on Windows 10 but should work fine on old builds of Windows 10 like 1803.
  6. BIOS is not updated since 2018. There is one problem with 1.16 version when I enter the bios a few times and try to save bios settings it can freeze my laptop.
  7. Sometimes WavesMaxxAudio can't find a device for playback and can't switch from headphone mode to speakers.

Maybe it's time to do something with all that stuff?

"Random freezing of system after installation of drivers intended for Win 10 from Acer page" - why not update Windows 10 with Acer drivers and other driver updates from Windows Update to whatever latest it is and then upgrading to Windows 11 directly? Did you try that? Also, it's a gross negligence from Acer's side IMO.

Trying to do my best here - Your happy Predator owner =)!
