Hello!

So i bought MW2 for my pc, i had a RTX 3060, and i was a bit dissapointed because on pc it feels a bit smoother then on a Xbox Series X or S.

I went looking to upgrade for my graphics card, i earlier upgraded the cpu fan because of the hot temps. I was really struggling to find a better graphics card for not to much money i went looking for comparison videos i know they may not be the best or whatever. Then i found the RX 6700 XT from MSI the mech edition non oc. I found out that this gpu has great perfomance on my 3060 i could not run MW2 really smoothly about 80 fps or so on highest settings. and was struggling to find better settings for, while the 6700 on highest settings runs easily at a 170 fps. Ofcourse other games may be a bit different but i think that you really overpay for Nividia cards? What do you guys think is it a better decision and or what upgrades can i do more in the future?

Thanks!

The better the GPU the higher the power requirement - so you need to check and see if a standard form factor ATX PSU fits that case, also i would recommend looking for DELL OEM cards - for your setup either a 3070 or 3070ti as their versions perform the same and require less power, with your setup you should be able to get away without upgrading the Power supply. Reason for recommending RTX cards is for raytracing as they do it best and with DLSS enabled are very capable.

For the future you can if you're currently running a i5 or i7 you can upgrade to a i9 of the same generation just check the manual for board compatability, and you may need to upgrade to a AIO cooler, chances are only a 120mm will fit but it's certainly not a hard process. I've also seen that it comes with 16gb of ram you can upgrade that to another 16gb totalling 32gb.

Minor upgrades like heatsinks for both your ram ( if they come without ) and your ssd will help the components run cooler.

Depends on the version of i7 you're running, with i7-10700 and rtx 3070 a 500w will be enough according to this

Also ideally you'd want to source a dell msi oem version of the rtx 3070, if not then the choice is between upgrading the PSU or using RX 6700 XT. Saying that these are requirements from the RX 6700 XT manual direct from AMD themselves :

System Requirements AMD Radeon™ RX 6700 XT The following are recommended minimum requirements for installation of AMD Radeon™ RX 6700 XT graphics cards: • PC with at least one PCI-Express x16 graphics slot available on the motherboard. •Minimum 650W system power supply •Minimum of 8 GB of system memory, 16GB is recommended. •Supported operating systems include Linux®, Windows® 7* , and Windows® 10, 64-bit operating system is required. •At least one display that is compatible with a DisplayPort, HDMI®, or USB Type-C connection.
