I recently bought an acer nitro XV282K monitor, but ever since I got it out of the box, it’s had these white patches on the upper corners of screen only when the colour the display is outputting is black. I was wondering if this is a potential software issue, or if it’s a fault out of the box. Can anyone help? The photo somewhat overstates how bad the issue is, but it’s not far off.

The Nitro XV282K monitor should be a one monitor for everything as it boasts a 4K IPS panel, 144Hz rate with Adaptive-Sync, bold HDR colors – and importantly – two HDMI 2.1 ports. But at $900, it’s a very expensive monitor and this problem should not be happening, as its got to do with your specific monitor and its not what this monitor should display, this is a backlighting issue that is not working fully and its the main cause of this problem, of square white faint patches at the circumstances of its screen, as the black screen should be all black especially as this is a high end gaming monitor. Get into contact with Acer in your area and point the above out to Acer Support and get this monitor checked as this high-end and high-priced gaming monitor has a backlight issue and needs to be replaced.
