Windows reports that my Acer laptop is not compatible with Windows 11.

SKU: Aspire R5-571TG_112E_1.09

The problem is my CPU is not acceptable to Microsoft.

Intel Core i7-7500U Processor w/4mb cache (Gen7 Dual Core) at 2.7GHz max 3.5GHz w/Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0

I want to know if there is an compatible upgrade for the Megatron_SK (U3E1) motherboard that would make my laptop Windows 11 capable?

I would prefer an equal or better CPU option, without replacing the motherboard. Can you advise of where I can find approved instructions to replace a CPU on this laptop?

Thanks for the help, Stan

Sorry no, The i7-7500U pins are soldered to the mainboard socket as a solder ball grid array (BGA). It cannot be changed. Furthermore, the R5 mainboard does not support the trusted platform module version 2 also currently required by Win11. There do not appear to be any replacement Win11 compatible mainboards that will fit the case

Thank you, JackE for the reply. I appreciate the feedback, even though disappointing. Still works great on Windows 10! Stuck with my newer Dell. :-(

As Yogi might say, Win10 will be around for a long time until it isn't. 🙂
