Trying to boot from a linux usb on a brand new Aspire ..

Disabled secure boot, enabled F12 boot selection menu, and have tried several different linux distros written to different USBs.. all produce an option to boot to linpus.lite (i guess Acer identifies all non-windows bootable drives as this?) but when proceeding to launch from the USB i just get a black screen with small white cursor, and the computer does not boot from the drive.

Any ideas? Cannot get this machine to behave as expected from USB boot...

    Hello!!

    @DocSal,

    Sad to know that you are unable to boot laptop with another OS on an USB drive. I have experience of installing Linux in Acer machine. In the same Acer Aspire unit I have installed Linux Mint V22 and got it running smooth till date.

    In order to resolve your issue, please format the USB completely. Then create bootable USB of Linux using Roofus. Then try installing it.

    Hope this helps!!
