HI rakshak,
It happen to me too on my aspire 5, i had blocked the cpu usages on 99% and it stoped, if you want you can try that solution.
For limiting the CPU usage go to control panel>System&Security>energy options>change selected plan config>Change advanced enegy config
Go to processor source administration(or something like) and maximal procesor usage set to 99%. That will lock 1% of your CPU for not use 100% power and make it freeze or lock. You not gona lose any kind of power so dont worry about not using the 100% of ure power. Also these config make safer from overheating and freeze screens.
From when i set it like that my CPU dont overpass the 70 ºC.

Also you can set the minimum usage on 99% too for make the cpu works on that render all the time but i don't suggeste it for not overload the cpu all time

it's only been 2 months, and the laptop came out this year only because it has the latest hardware... reinstalled windows 1 month ago.. thought it would solve it because it was happening with the default windows install it came with

hmmm. That's really strange then, if the software and driver is updated, you already restored to fabric and tried to lock the power for not overcharging the components seens like an internal hardware problem. I think sending it to Acer for checking the hardware is your best option, just for not loosing your warantty(you can do it by yourself but they gona revoid your waranty out). Keep it on mind, if you send the laptop to Acer they probably take 1 or 2 weeks on checking and sending it you back. Mostly they gona change the thermalpads, thermal paste and make some tests...( or maybe they change you the motherboard). That's my opinion, now if any one else have some idea what it can be(out of the hardware how i said) maybe he post in a few days. If you dont have response from the post in 2 or 3 days i recommend you (how i said) sending the laptop to acer for a complete check from them.

OK, there you have two options, talkin with Amazon for sending it to vendor and they will make the tramitation or talk directly to Acer by they're support system and explain them the problem.
Personally I'd take the first one because you can get a refund or a new laptop if they don't fix it. It will be longer for the tramitation of the waranty but you will be surely attended by amazon support for any problem.
