Can someone confirm if below chip is the right bios chip for Acer B46H5-AD motherboard. TIA.

    I would say YES due to it being near the battery and 8 pin.

    Search your model # on this forum for MB layouts.

    OK, here's the board layout as shown in the SG:

    They don't specify that chip but you are likely right. The empty spot next to it is likely for a design that had a backup CMOS like some of the workstations do. Now, why do you need the info? Hopefully you aren't planning on desoldering it for some reason... If you just need to force a reset of the CMOS then the Clear_CMOS jumper is a better first step:
